Jennifer Williams
Jennifer’s passion for photography began in high school, sparked by the quiet magic of watching an image slowly emerge in a chemical bath. That moment—seeing a photograph come to life under red light—anchored her love for the craft.
Inspired by Gavin Blake’s poetry series of handmade slides, Jennifer developed a fascination with the way words, images, and physical materials can merge to tell a deeper story. She began collecting flower specimens, pairing their delicate forms with fragments of text, and experimenting with incorporating some of her grandfather’s old slides. This evolving body of work echoes the spirit of an apothecary—part archive, part remedy—where memory, nature, and language are preserved, distilled, and reimagined.
She continues to work with film today, developing black‑and‑white images in the darkroom, preserving the tactile, intentional process that first inspired her. At the same time, Jennifer embraces modern techniques, integrating digital photography and Lightroom editing to expand her creative range while staying rooted in the traditions that shaped her artistic voice.
